On the 28th September 2013, we will be taking part in the annual Shine (walking) Marathon to help raise vital funds for Cancer Research to help them do what they do best: find ways to treat, combat and eventually overcome all forms of cancer.

In January 2013, as most of you know, Mum passed away after putting up one hell of a fight against cancer for over 7 years.

Although there were many things which helped Mum to be as comfortable and happy as possible during her fight, it is impossible to quantify the extent to which Mum's medical treatment impacted on her well-being. As a family, we felt so lucky that Mum was able to receive a variety of treatments and also participate in several medical trials, as it kept Mum here with us for longer. Mum always said, when deciding whether to take part in medical trials: "If it will help you to find new treatments which can help others, then I will do it."

With this in mind, Team Shine4BrendaC want to continue in the same vein as Mum and do our bit to help Cancer Research in becoming one step closer to overcoming all forms of cancer. 

Your kindness and generosity since Mum's passing has been overwhelming and greatly appreciated by us all. We would like to thank you in advance for your continued support!
